AI ART

(Photographic-based, mixed media)

I create photographic-based mixed media artworks that explore identity, resistance, and representation through the lens of Black female aesthetics. My process begins with original portraits I’ve taken, often of Black women, capturing emotion, complexity, and strength. These photographs are digitally manipulated and then enhanced using ethically sourced AI blending techniques, allowing me to layer in symbolic imagery, rich tones, and abstract elements that deepen the narrative.

My work bridges photography, fine art, and creative technology, blending human experience with machine interpretation. Each piece becomes a visual conversation between culture, memory, and innovation. Rooted in research and lived experience, my practice challenges dominant visual narratives and offers space for Black British women to be seen in their full complexity. This approach sits within contemporary fine art, using digital tools as voice, identity and visibility extensions.

Ethical AI Use:

I am committed to ethically sourcing and using AI in my creative practice. I only work with platforms that are transparent about their training data and respect copyright, artist rights, and data consent. My AI-assisted artworks are created using tools such as Firefly (Adobe), NightCafe, Leonardo AI, and MidJourney, with careful attention to terms of use and attribution.

I do not replicate or train on other artists’ work, and all AI outputs are based on my original photographic portraits, still life, Landscape and street-written prompts, or poetry.

As a neurodivergent Black British woman and PhD researcher, ethical AI use is core to both my values and my academic inquiry. I view AI as a collaborative tool, not a replacement for creativity, and I use it to extend, not erase, the presence and narrative of Black women in visual culture.
